Dining Hall Dedication
A Vision Realized
“A Vison Realized” was the theme of the new dining hall dedication ceremony at Promise Camp and Retreat Center on September 26th 2015. What a joy it was to host old and new friends in the brand new dining hall. Over 50 donors, heads of foundations, board members as well as current and former Promise Camp staff, celebrated a ribbon cutting, presentations and a wonderful dinner provided by Bistro-to-Go, appropriately served in the new dining hall. The facility was dedicated in honor of Bob Jamison, former head of Family Guidance. A beautiful framed plaque showcasing a picture of the dining hall along with a copy of the attractive event program was presented to Bob by Brian Johansson, current President and CEO of Family Guidance and a duplicate frame was hung in the lobby.
Worth Waiting For
It was a long time coming, but it was worth the wait, the dining hall is spectacular with seating for over 200, a stage area, stone fireplace, vaulted ceilings, storage, a nurse’s station, bathrooms and a gleaming state-of-the-art kitchen that will serve many for years to come. We acknowledge Mark Edelmann as architect and Brubach Construction Company as the builder of this facility.
We Are Thankful
Many thanks to all the foundations, donors, Family Guidance Staff and Board members for a wonderful day of celebration. Sitting in the new dining hall one can imagine the 1000’s of children and retreat center guests who will enjoy food and fellowship for many years to come!
