Promise Camp is a Christ-centered ministry located about a half hour from Pittsburgh near Clinton, PA in Beaver County and is one of Pennsylvania’s premier camps for underprivileged children. Campers have the time of their lives enjoying outdoor and indoor activities including games, crafts, swimming, challenge course elements, campfires, etc. on 112 beautiful wooded acres. Promise Camp is an overnight camp specifically designed for kids who would otherwise not able to afford or get to a top-quality camp.
We have developed a single registration and medical form that needs to be completed and mailed with your payment to ensure a spot. You can download the registration form here, 2019 Registration Form
, or contact our Camp Registrar at Signup@Promise.Camp
for more information. Registration form needs mailed to: Promise Camp by Family Guidance, 227 Lance Rd, Clinton PA 15026.
Promise Camp provides scheduled busing to and from the Promise Camp campground for each week of camp. We have three bus stops: Aliquippa- Linmar Terrace, East Liberty- Home Depot, and the Northside- ACAC. Parents or approved guardians are responsible for getting the children to and from the bus stop at the appropriate time. Once your child is registered, you will be sent more information about each of the bus stops. Parent transportation to camp is also an option.
The total cost this year depends on annual household income: If your annual household income is less than $60,000, the fee per camper is $30. If your income is between $60,000 and $100,000, the fee per camper is $100. If your income is above $100,000, the fee per camper is $400. We accept checks, cash, and credit/debit cards. We can provide camp at these discounted rates thanks to the generosity of our supporters. If there is a special financial circumstance, please contact us.
Once your child is registered for camp, you will be sent a complete camp packing list. However, here are some general items your child will need: sleeping bag, pillow, clothes for one week, and toiletry items. Please note that all clothing needs to be clearly labeled with the child’s full name.
Promise Camp is a drug, alcohol and tobacco-free camp. We also do not allow any weapons or electronic devises to be brought to camp. Gang paraphernalia is also prohibited. We do not serve physically combative individuals.
Promise Camp is accredited by the American Camp Association®. We maintain a counselor-to-camper ratio of 1:3 and our total staff-to-camper ratio is approximately 1:2, with more supervision and structure in place than most other camps. Campers are never alone without supervision. We have trained, certified lifeguards on staff, CPR and First Aid certified staff, and trained challenge course facilitators. Our ropes course is a low ropes course (meaning there are no high and dangerous elements). Our pool has no deep end, it is a 3 to 5 feet pool with no diving board, and is supervised by lifeguards during operation. The pool has a six foot high fence surrounding, and it is closed, locked, and monitored when not in operation. Food is prepared with accommodations for allergies. We follow a structured medication administration policy.
Promise Camp seeks to minister to kids by offering a Christ-centered experience through various activities such as: group games, low ropes course, swimming in an Olympic-sized pool, 16’ and 32’ rock climbing walls, hiking, sports, crafts, camp fires, exciting teaching, worship, small group time, cabin time, and bible studies. It is good clean fun while getting muddy!
Volunteer opportunities abound before camp opens at the beginning of the summer, and at the close of the camping season. Our beautiful facility is large, spacious and needs to be made ready for our kids! Please contact us if you would like to be a part of our Promise Camp Prep teams: Jennifer Engel, Camp Director
